Po dlhšej prestávke spôsobenej rozsiahlymi stavebnými prácami sa už čoskoro obnoví priame vlakové spojenie medzi Viedňou (Wien Hbf) a hlavnou stanicou v Bratislave.
Od 11. októbra by mali opäť premávať regionálne vlaky, ktoré priamo prepoja obe hlavné mestá.
Doteraz mali cestujúci k dispozícii len časté spoje do stanice Bratislava-Petržalka. Obnovenie prevádzky na hlavnú stanicu tak prinesie výrazné zlepšenie nielen pre dochádzajúcich, ale aj pre turistov, ktorí mieria do centra mesta.
Podľa portálu Interrail ide o dôležitý krok k pohodlnejšiemu a rýchlejšiemu cestovaniu medzi metropolami.
Rýchlejšia cesta do Viedne
Významnou novinkou po obnovení spojenia je skrátenie cestovnej doby. Trasa medzi Bratislavou hl. st. a Viedňou (Wien Hbf.) bude trvať 56 minút, čo je o 11 minút rýchlejšie než pred výlukou, keď jazda zabrala 1 hodinu a 7 minút.

- Z Bratislavy hl. st. budú vlaky odchádzať vždy na 49. minútu hodiny, v čase od 4:49 do 23:49.
- Do Wien Hbf. dorazia pravidelne na 46. minútu.
- Z Viedne (Wien Hbf.) budú odchody nastavené na 14. minútu hodiny, od 5:14 do 00:14, pričom príchod do Bratislavy bude vždy na 11. minútu.
História výluky trate Bratislava – Marchegg – Viedeň
- December 2023 – December 2024: Prebiehali prípravné a čiastočné stavebné práce, postupne sa obmedzovali niektoré spoje.
- Od 15. decembra 2024: Začala sa úplná výluka vlakovej dopravy na úseku Bratislava hlavná stanica – Marchegg – Viedeň Hbf. Vlaky boli presmerované len na trasu do Bratislavy-Petržalky.
- Dôvod: Elektrifikácia a modernizácia trate Devínska Nová Ves – Marchegg, vrátane zdvojkoľajnenia.
- Plánované ukončenie prác: trať by mala byť opäť sprevádzkovaná predbežne októbri 2025.
- Cieľ: Skrátiť cestovný čas medzi Bratislavou a Viedňou (po úplnom dokončení až na cca 40 minút), zvýšiť kapacitu a umožniť nasadenie moderných elektrických vlakov.
